darling Botrytis
Our 2011 Botrytis Semillon has had an amazing couple of weeks, and we just love it.
Over the weekend just gone, this wine was announced as the Best Sweet Wine at the 2012 South Australian Wine of the Year Awards. And to top it off, last night it was announced that the wine won GOLD at the Barossa Wine Show.
The 2011 Botrytis Semillon is our first release from the Elderton Greenock vineyard, which we purchased in 2010. To view more on the wine click here.

2011 Botrytis Semillon - "Yum"

A review by Winsor Dobbin (22 June 2012)
This was the standout for me in a line-up of 16 top dessert wines from around Australia. It triumphed in some pretty outstanding company and then proved an excellent accompaniment to a slice of Dundee cake. The nose tells the story; rich honey and candied notes leading on to a seriously decadent palate in which luscious orange marmalade, apricot and toffee flavours are aided and abetted by some deliciously crisp acidity on the finish. Yum.

2011 Botrytis Semillon
A great 4.5 star review by Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Age Epicure 5.6.12
The great botrytised sweet whites of Australia are truly hedonistic pleasures. This yellow-gold Barossa semillon offers rich, sweet aromas of glace stone fruits, candied peel, honey and toffee. The palate is luxuriously sweet with luscious fruit, fine, lush texture and a clean, zesty aftertaste. 4.5 stars
